through facial expression body language and vocal production whether you know it's
for work for play for hobby or whether it's one or a thousand people whether
it's for seniors or kids or for business or friends any kind of a presentation
whether its formal or its relaxed is a form of influence and it's well
documented that 55 percent of your audience again no matter the size
experiences you visually and the other 45 percent experiences you in your sound
but we've already talked on that a little bit so we're going to just move right
along and deal with facial expression and body language today and just some of
the top tips at the most and most often at the moments for your audience that
people don't talk about where they get an impression from you is watching you
listening and feeling the sensations the emotions the thought process that's
going on inside your noggin before it gets out through your mouth or your body
language facial expressions show through your face there's no two ways about it
I mean what you're thinking will show through your face and they show what
we're experiencing what we're feeling what we're thinking about and the closer
your audience the more they hear you through your eyes is just a fact now in
your body language it's considered the silent language that either illuminates
your incongruities or your double messages or it supports your facial
expression and what you're thinking now overriding everything is confidence
whether your audience is 110 or 10,000 people are drawn to confidence it is the
number one most desired state now simply put confidence is like a tool and it
has confidence comes from figuring out what your goals are your aims are
designing how to get there and then directing those goals through together
everybody daily practice where you're fully engaged so number one on the hit
parade for facial expression is is an outward extension of your inner thoughts
and it gives your message believability the expression your eyes are the
mirrors of the soul really does say it beautifully your eyes and lips are the
focal point of your entire performance so their choreography is really
important and your facial expression also sets up and supports your vocal
expression it truly does even an expressionless face can be just as powerful as
a really animated or a contorted one the eyes do all the work here as your audience
can see you thinking truly so don't be fooled by a blanket rushon either even
if you think you aren't showing expression you really are next is if your
expression doesn't match the words you're saying you give a double message so
whatever you're thinking Telegraph's through your eyes always
so if you're
thinking about what you're going to have for lunch when you're talking about
the black hole theory or whatever it may be your audience isn't going to quite
believe you or they're going to be a little bit confused because you're
thinking about something else and that's called a double message and the
trouble with that is often your audience can get the wrong impression you may
be trying to figure out something for the black hole but if it's not in line with
what you're speaking about with respect to the black hole then it will become
confusing does that make any sense now we are a controlled and/or we control
our emotions and we can prevent what we're thinking from showing on our face
well that's what we think but it just simply doesn't work your audience can see
right through it here's a little example for those who are familiar with a
talking stick method those who are holding the stick are the ones who get to
speak now if you want to influence the other person or the other group in that
talking spec talking stick group then you want to make sure that you are
speaking exactly what you're thinking and that you're looking at the person or
persons that you want to get that across to so think about any experience that
you've had that way now here's another thing we're generally more animated or
many people are when we read to children aren't we we or to our grandchildren
we automatically you know put some character into our voices we raise our
eyebrows we animate our face and it's not though the kind of expression did you
want to put forth in a business group or work that you're trying to influence
because it you know it's just it just won't come across all that well if that
makes any sense so at number three is the bottom line your eyes your lips and
what's behind them are your focal points of your entire communication so giving
any influential and congruent message you may want to deliver starts with what
you are thinking and being fully engaged in that thought process absolutely so
now what we're going to do is touch on body language and your body expresses an
array of emotions and messages and what you are thinking drives it your body's
like an instrument that expresses itself and you know in a variety of ways and
your emotions and moods and what you're thinking or your messages that you want
to deliver drives that outward expression and the gestures that you speak
they're all tied up together you know whether you use your hand this way or
this way whatever it is you're doing or maybe you're demonstrating with
something but to get the most out of each aspect it's
good to break them down and understand how each relates to the other so when
you're planning your your presentation it's good to to take all of those things
into consideration now it's important also to be aware of your conscious and
unconscious movements
I'm still see I'm still practicing my technical skills here so as with facial expression whatever you are thinking communicates its way through your ever-changing facial and body expressions out of your Audion out to your audience and it's really important to underscore this that the words you speak are only 7% of your communication only 7% so in summing up if your role isn't definitive your audience will decide for you so know what you're aiming for who your audience is and the outcome you want to achieve and remember the complete harmony in what you think how you speak and what you show on your face and body we want it streamlined fast easy effective we want it eko responsible and our pocketbook responsible and time so we what before is a dual finish powder foundation why because it covers well number one number two you don't have layers and layers and layers and layers of makeup because who has the time for that plus when you layer a lot of different products then you have to when you comes time to touch-up you've got to deal with all those different products and and you know touch-up is like just too much bother so when you keep it simple it's great and from this perspective when we do it this way using this dual finish powder and Audrey Moore's is the one that I recommend I love that product now it will be sold under a number of different distributors and Burrell is one of them they put different names on there on the product they have different numbers sometimes they they do all kinds of things they market it differently but the product itself is the same so the trick is to find out where they're sourcing and so one company I know of his Burrell and in Canada another one is is deca and it used to be sold through trade secrets and it may still be sold through some of them but but I'm not sure that they are anyway you can order it online they have fairly decent customer service and they're quite willing to help
if you get the wrong color they're happy to exchange it so that's good to know now as you can see in this picture here the number 30s that are on now it's on my left but it may be you're right it's the darker one where you can see where I fit and not the 30s so they are they are all for more of a neutral to cool toned undertone the 40s that are up at the top on pointing but you can't see the 30s and some of the 30s and the 40s are up at the top they're more of a warm to neutral based undertone the most popular in the 30s are 30 31 32 and 34 35 is great as a contour for lightest complexions in the warmer tones number 40 41 42 and 43 are the most popular the lighter like the the light the the smaller the number like 30 or 40 they're the lightest of those shades and like the 35 or the 43 are the darker of those shades now you can go up darker of course and then we get in to our hour minute our darker skinned black beauties and and that sort of thing in the in the 30s in the higher range now number 29 that you'll see it is it is an excellent color for our Asian sisters and brothers or sisters and they it has because it has a little bit of a yellow base in it and it also really good as a concealer for if you you need a little bit of yellow in your in your concealer then that's a really handy one to have too now number 33 is also good for our Mediterranean beauties it it just it just works really well as well so that's what I really recommend and I love in fact I'm wearing it right now that's all I've got on and I do have a little bit of the mac prolongwear concealer in here because I've quite a blue spot on my eye but that's it now when and if it gets muggy or whatever if it gets like really hot you know how most makeups will melt this won't melt it will just glow put your moisturizer on first wait a couple of minutes and then put it on this is a basic if you need to go out in a hurry or whatever this evening your skin tone is number one on the hit parade especially as we age and we have discoloration the other thing that you can do with this product is to dampen your sponge and if you have a spot dampen the sponge and let me see if I have a sponge right here yes and then just stipple just step over the spot is with a dampened sponge and the product let it dry and then put dry when it's dried then put some dry powder over top of it stippling and blends right in it you know it's better than medication and this one woman wasn't used to wearing makeup at all so I thought I'm just gonna go this right there's other approaches I could have taken but I decided to go to this approach because it's something that she would have used and used it often and it worked great it worked great so that's why I love the product so foundation number one okay the next thing I have some samples here of Mac eyeshadows now why do I refer to Mac because they're available worldwide everybody can get them and if you don't have a Mac store in your particular area of the world you can always order it online these are the best eyes shadows for those of us who are about 45 plus me and especially those who are who are encouraging and embracing their own natural gray hair you've got carbon which is a classic black Omega which is a cool light taupe it's wonderful to go with lighter gray hair or whiter gray hair and mixed with at the other end there you'll see scene which is a it's a again a true gray all these colors are true there's no undertones that you can see
so you mix the Omega and the scene together for eyebrows for somebody who has white hair and very light brows it will give you a brow that's not heavy or over-the-top Coquette next to the Omega is a true wonderful taupe I use it for everything I use it actually for uh you know in in in my eye because I have a bit of a MOBA or a crease in my eyes still although it's you know changing rapidly and I use it underneath here to it I use it underneath and mixed with the broom next to it which is again a true Brown there's not red in it or anything else like that then the other one the print next to the broom is a fantastic grey color medium and you can go darker with it and I've got I'm wearing a color print on my eyebrows so right now just lately I'm wearing them a little bit thicker but just because you know I'm I can go thin thick or whatever if I wanted to go thin and light I would you the scene but if I watch them a little bit heavier because I'm making a presentation or whatever then I go with the print these are just classic eyeshadows and if you buy them at Mac in the pan form and get one of their magnetized pallet cases you can set all of these into your pan and you open the pan everything is there you don't have to open and close and open and close to get your different colors and then it's easy to dip into one and then dip into the other and mix them up and they're a lot cheaper this way it's just so much simpler now the other thing that's really important to have is a flat angled brush there's all kinds of brushes available all over the all over the place I like crown brushes but Mac has some great brushes too but you really need two good flat edged angled brushes excuse me allergies one for your brows and one for your liner and why do i why do i suggest - because you want each brush should be dedicated to one color it just it's just cleaner and easier and of course you should be brushing your you're brushing you should be washing or shampooing your your brushes every couple of weeks so that they give you optimum performance and remember cleaning the brushes removes any oil build-up when you touch your face and then go back into your your pan of shadow to pick up more product to bring to your face and then you touch your face and you go back into your pan you're transferring oils from your face into the pan so what happens I over over a period of time it starts to harden and it doesn't perform the way all your shadows should fly when you put your brush in you know at your Beach they should be powdered not not stiff so cleaning your brushes will certainly help to eliminate that problem for your brushes so does anybody let's go back here have any questions with respect to the brushes I'm going to just pull some comments down here and see what we have good morning Joan and let me see
I bought the kiss I'm nervous about trying Julie nothing to be nervous about their lashes you can clean them with alcohol if you get glue all over the place you can clean them with alcohol a very dry skin on face will do a finish powder work well yes but you have to use a moisturizer before hand like with all makeup whatever your favorite moisturizer is use it give it a couple of minutes for it to soak in you know do its thing and and then apply your product and see how that works and then your skin will look powdery for about ten minutes but by the time you're finished doing your makeup it will settled it beautifully you know like I said I'm wearing it and it looks pretty darn good Marian good morning from Alabama and Julie how would I cover up red skin on my chest the same dual finish powder I don't know if you can see but I I when I do my face I also do my decollete cuz I have you know just a couple of spots I don't like cover them over completely but ie I even out and you'll find that that will that will make a big big difference okay so what I have now is some questions from mm let me see I have a question from Beth MacPhail actually and she says you have inspired me to embrace my gray hair would you share it with your followers what shampoo and conditioning you use on your hair your gray hair is shiny and healthy looking well Thank You Beth I don't use anything special I really don't right now I currently used of volumizing shampoo and conditioner and that's that's only before that I was using ozzie I because I really liked not only this scent but I liked the I like the volumizing shampoo it worked really well for my hair there goes my glasses again on my crooked face anyway that's all I do now what I do do now though is I mix together in my little baking soda recipe I wash my hair or shampoo my hair with baking soda water and shampoo I take a couple of tablespoons of baking soda mix it with about a cup of water add you know two or three dollops of shampoo and then I shake it up and I use that and I do that just once a week because what it does is baking soda acts as a clarifier now for certain hairstyles I use I use hairspray and sometimes I use you know some other things and some gel don't use a lot of product but I like to John Frieda currently and even with the curly hair it seems to work well now when I'm wearing my hair like this I use curl keeper and I use just the original I don't use the gel and I put that in when I first shampoo my hair and then I turn my head upside down and diffuse it and this is hair that I've slept on that I haven't put any pin curls into or anything else and all I did was I used a little bottle you know spritz bottle of water and I just spritz to my hair and scrunched it and let it dry and it came right back so but that's product that's sitting in my hair so the baking soda clarifies it meaning that it takes out all of the the stuff that you've put in your hair you know since your last champ oh and the other thing that it does is if you have any yellowing in your hair it will remove it so it brightens the whites and the Grays it does a wonderful job of that so I find that using just that little bit of baking soda mixed with a little bit of shampoo once a week I never have to do anything else so I use my dove and how to choose also a hairstyle that works for you depending on your hair type because it's really it's really important to embrace your hair type because it makes your styling options a whole lot easier okay so we have a question here from M I recently heard of magnetic lashes have you tried these are these easy to use what are your thoughts about magnetic lashes well thumbs down from my perspective here's a picture of them I don't know if you can see it up close or not but you can see how the ends stick out on the magnetic lashes on these denne ones which sidebar are too long for this woman's eyelashes they so that when she opens her eyes or she's looking up you see your natural lashes and then these extra long ones I'd far prefer just to wear the strip lashes it's much easier plus putting the magnet ones on it takes some practice of course to get it right but even when you do the instacart because the magnetic the magnet is in the center dilash so you know em I I wouldn't go that route at all next question Kathy killerman do you like that violet shampoo that is supposed to be good to enhance gray hair well get the Kathy again I'm not a big fan of purple shampoos I've been through that issue and a number of women who are on the going gray and loving it page also have found that with regular use of purple shampoos it stains the hair and it creates a metallic cast to the hair purple shampoos now and again maybe every six weeks if you have yellowing we'll have we'll get rid of it now I think I said this before I have purple shampoo that I never use the only time I use it is if I have blonde human hair extensions I will use that to tone them to you know to tone them into more of a silver color but it's not like a natural silver color but it's good if I need to have something to hide underneath
so I hope that answers your question okay Kathy next we have from Joan peri hi Sharon my hair is getting so thin still very frizzy how can I control the frizz well as it's been spoken before coconut oil is a fabulous product and many many women use it recommend it they've had great success with it all you need to do there's various ways you can do this but one way is to slather all your hair say an hour before you're going to shampoo it and cover your head with a plastic shower cap why because the heat coming from your head and the plastic will work together to create like a humid environment for the coconut oil to sink into the hair or like some if you have a lot of dead ends on your hair from from you know dyed hair or any number of other misuses of the hair excuse me put a towel on your pillow and sleep with it overnight shampoo your hair after you've used the coconut oil and voila shiny smooth looks beautiful handles well and you know it works really well the other whoops the other product is suave sleek anti frizz it's cheap and cheerful and it's great for straighter hair so you put some you put some in and lots of women have you know shared that they really like this product you just put some in your hair not a lot and especially if you have fine hair but just enough to do the job wet in wet hair and then you know work it through and then blow-dry your hair and style at your normal way and it will be smooth and sleek and it'll just perform really really well so let's go back to see if we have any other questions since the last time what doesn't look like it or maybe let's see if I move down this way Mary Ellen my hair is highlighted light blonde thanks to the wood of wigs I'm sorry I don't quite understand light neutral cool skin tone and brown eyes for the suggestion Mac our eye shadow work for me too well yeah because what I love about those Mac shadows is that their true colors their classics and you can mix any one of them with any of the other ones like mix the Omega or the Coquette with either the brown or the carbon or the coke the the brown the the Brune the Coquette the print and the black I've done that yeah you just have to find the right combination that suits your particular coloring and that just takes a little bit of press practice Ozark cotton-top I'll be 50 soon my eyelids are dark no matter what product I use it wears off within minutes no amount of primer setting spray keeps or not okay don't bother with any of that stuff I don't use primer I don't use setting spray and my makeup stays pretty darn good it goes for a good you know four to six hours and like I said if I have to touch up my tiny little you know thing that I showed you before it's just a pan that I put some of the foundation in to clean finger or a Kleenex go into the product and I just go down the other thing you do is just you know mat your face want to speak but for your eyes if this will cover cholesterol deposits if you still need more then you can add a concealer over top but I really believe in doing as little as possible to achieve what you want to achieve there's so many you know youtubers and self professed gurus and makeup companies and magazines trying to get us to buy products to take care of stuff well I'm someone who has dark circles not as dark as some but but I do have dark but when I do this this is their fine can you see my bags yeah can you see my wrinkles yeah and that's okay I am 72 years of age it comes with the territory but I don't mind because those wrinkles in those bags and everything look like they're cared for so I would suggest going that root food first to see to see if that works for you and then and then try like I said that the long-wear Pro Longwear concealer over top and see how how that works I only tried using those things because I wasn't staying on to begin it wasn't staying on to begin with that's why I I was lost as to what to do yes ma'am I will okay great Ozark cotton-top great cute name give that a try and you know and in the next live stream let us know how how it's uh how it's worked for you okay now is there any other questions or comments I don't seem to see any so there's no point in going on if there isn't any so what I want to do is turn to our quote of note that makeup is not a cure for psychological problems makeup is a tool that improves the psyche and I absolutely it does there's no two ways about it so I think we're coming to the end now
I'm still see I'm still practicing my technical skills here so as with facial expression whatever you are thinking communicates its way through your ever-changing facial and body expressions out of your Audion out to your audience and it's really important to underscore this that the words you speak are only 7% of your communication only 7% so in summing up if your role isn't definitive your audience will decide for you so know what you're aiming for who your audience is and the outcome you want to achieve and remember the complete harmony in what you think how you speak and what you show on your face and body we want it streamlined fast easy effective we want it eko responsible and our pocketbook responsible and time so we what before is a dual finish powder foundation why because it covers well number one number two you don't have layers and layers and layers and layers of makeup because who has the time for that plus when you layer a lot of different products then you have to when you comes time to touch-up you've got to deal with all those different products and and you know touch-up is like just too much bother so when you keep it simple it's great and from this perspective when we do it this way using this dual finish powder and Audrey Moore's is the one that I recommend I love that product now it will be sold under a number of different distributors and Burrell is one of them they put different names on there on the product they have different numbers sometimes they they do all kinds of things they market it differently but the product itself is the same so the trick is to find out where they're sourcing and so one company I know of his Burrell and in Canada another one is is deca and it used to be sold through trade secrets and it may still be sold through some of them but but I'm not sure that they are anyway you can order it online they have fairly decent customer service and they're quite willing to help

but even when you do the instacart because the magnetic the magnet is in the center dilash so you know em I I wouldn't go that route at all next question Kathy killerman do you like that violet shampoo that is supposed to be good to enhance gray hair well get the Kathy again I'm not a big fan of purple shampoos I've been through that issue and a number of women who are on the going gray and loving it page also have found that with regular use of purple shampoos it stains the hair and it creates a metallic cast to the hair purple shampoos now and again maybe every six weeks if you have yellowing we'll have we'll get rid of it now I think I said this before I have purple shampoo that I never use the only time I use it is if I have blonde human hair extensions I will use that to tone them to you know to tone them into more of a silver color but it's not like a natural silver color but it's good if I need to have something to hide underneath
so I hope that answers your question okay Kathy next we have from Joan peri hi Sharon my hair is getting so thin still very frizzy how can I control the frizz well as it's been spoken before coconut oil is a fabulous product and many many women use it recommend it they've had great success with it all you need to do there's various ways you can do this but one way is to slather all your hair say an hour before you're going to shampoo it and cover your head with a plastic shower cap why because the heat coming from your head and the plastic will work together to create like a humid environment for the coconut oil to sink into the hair or like some if you have a lot of dead ends on your hair from from you know dyed hair or any number of other misuses of the hair excuse me put a towel on your pillow and sleep with it overnight shampoo your hair after you've used the coconut oil and voila shiny smooth looks beautiful handles well and you know it works really well the other whoops the other product is suave sleek anti frizz it's cheap and cheerful and it's great for straighter hair so you put some you put some in and lots of women have you know shared that they really like this product you just put some in your hair not a lot and especially if you have fine hair but just enough to do the job wet in wet hair and then you know work it through and then blow-dry your hair and style at your normal way and it will be smooth and sleek and it'll just perform really really well so let's go back to see if we have any other questions since the last time what doesn't look like it or maybe let's see if I move down this way Mary Ellen my hair is highlighted light blonde thanks to the wood of wigs I'm sorry I don't quite understand light neutral cool skin tone and brown eyes for the suggestion Mac our eye shadow work for me too well yeah because what I love about those Mac shadows is that their true colors their classics and you can mix any one of them with any of the other ones like mix the Omega or the Coquette with either the brown or the carbon or the coke the the brown the the Brune the Coquette the print and the black I've done that yeah you just have to find the right combination that suits your particular coloring and that just takes a little bit of press practice Ozark cotton-top I'll be 50 soon my eyelids are dark no matter what product I use it wears off within minutes no amount of primer setting spray keeps or not okay don't bother with any of that stuff I don't use primer I don't use setting spray and my makeup stays pretty darn good it goes for a good you know four to six hours and like I said if I have to touch up my tiny little you know thing that I showed you before it's just a pan that I put some of the foundation in to clean finger or a Kleenex go into the product and I just go down the other thing you do is just you know mat your face want to speak but for your eyes if this will cover cholesterol deposits if you still need more then you can add a concealer over top but I really believe in doing as little as possible to achieve what you want to achieve there's so many you know youtubers and self professed gurus and makeup companies and magazines trying to get us to buy products to take care of stuff well I'm someone who has dark circles not as dark as some but but I do have dark but when I do this this is their fine can you see my bags yeah can you see my wrinkles yeah and that's okay I am 72 years of age it comes with the territory but I don't mind because those wrinkles in those bags and everything look like they're cared for so I would suggest going that root food first to see to see if that works for you and then and then try like I said that the long-wear Pro Longwear concealer over top and see how how that works I only tried using those things because I wasn't staying on to begin it wasn't staying on to begin with that's why I I was lost as to what to do yes ma'am I will okay great Ozark cotton-top great cute name give that a try and you know and in the next live stream let us know how how it's uh how it's worked for you okay now is there any other questions or comments I don't seem to see any so there's no point in going on if there isn't any so what I want to do is turn to our quote of note that makeup is not a cure for psychological problems makeup is a tool that improves the psyche and I absolutely it does there's no two ways about it so I think we're coming to the end now
