DO'S AND DON'TS OF GYM ETIQUETTE
Hi guys some gym etiquette there's a lot of people out there who do some silly things at the gym that are pretty avoidable and pretty frustrating for other people so instead I would go over those real quickly there's I think ten big ones there's probably more maybe less but these are the ones that I'm going to cover real quickly and I think they apply to everybody first one is absolutely under no circumstances should you be lifting in front of the dumbbell rack or any other rack it's very frustrating when you're at the gym and you're trying to do your routine and you can't even get to the dumbbells you want regardless whether they're being used because some clown standing there doing his curls staring out self in the mirror so don't lift right from the rock grab your dumbbells step aside so people can access the rock.I'm actually put your weights away when you're done put them where they belong nothing's more frustrating then having dumbbells stirring around the whole gym you're looking for the 60s or something and you can't find them because some guy used them in another room and left to put things back shouldn't have to run around a flower everything for.
if you are going to grab a banner machine make sure nobody else is using it it's not always obvious so if you think somebody was asking around if somebody's saying the exhibition say anybody out on that something like that make sure it's available on the flipside you know don't expect to walk away from a machine or a bench for 10 or 15 minutes and come back and have it still be available because that's not reasonable either.
Make sure you wipe down the equipment when you're done that's a big one nobody wants to sit in your sweat your germs that's disgusting and you wouldn't want to sit somebody else's stuff so just make sure you wipe it down even if you're not sweating make sure you write the diet because it's just basic hygiene it's considerate to other members of the gym.
You're sick don't go to the gym people there are working hard their bodies are fatigued and there are increased risk of getting sick just because of that and you go to the gym is just increasing those odds as it is and making your illness you know exposed to everybody else at the gym you don't go to work in school so don't go to the gym either if you're sick if you think you're sick.
Most people appreciate this is don't do curls in the squat rock under any circumstances usually your gym only has one or two squat racks probably has ten or more barbells you can do those girls anywhere don't doing this bar rock and that's true for deadlifts and bent over rows and cleans or whatever else you're trying to do don't doing this bar rack.
Make sure you wear your headphones and don't just turn the boombox on when there's lots of people Joe that's very distracting we know you think you had the best music in the world it gets you pumped up in everyone else but I also think my music is the best so you know you're respectful of that don't blast music use headphones I can drown out what I'm trying to listen to by having that go everywhere so don't do that it is try to keep this socializing to a minimum if you're there with your buddies do it over but a lot of times I'm there by myself with my headphones on walk with my head down so I don't get interrupted by other people at the gym is it really distracting can slow me down it sounds kind of rude but a lot of people are there they're on a mission a limited amount of time and they're trying to get their whole routine done in that time so please be respectful of this social aspect and try not to get dragged into too many long conversations or drag other people into.
This is a big one is when you're done with the barbell specially take the weights off the bar or machine nothing is more frustrating than looking like somebody's using a bench press no small rack because they love to play down there a couple plates and you come back 20 minutes later and looks exactly the same because nobody's been using it but everyone thinks that somebody is and that's just ridiculous not fair to anyone else in the gym and it's not fair to gym staff either they don't want to clean it up so don't do that.
The last one this is sort of a stylistic one but I think it's kind of the biggies don't wear any perfumes or colognes or really scented stuff be very distracting you know you get a whiff of somebody's cologne or Axe body spray or whatever and for some people that can actually you know make them have allergies and stuff so it can be very distracting stuff don't do that and those are the 10 things that you really want to avoid at the gym...
